The Yari was an essential battlefield weapon of the Samurai and took great skill to use and maneuver due to its length and size. The Hanwei Japanese Yari is based on original dating to feudal Japan. The blade is forged in T-10 high-carbon steel and is triangulated and double-edged with a deep fuller on the flat side of the blade. Differential tempering results in a clear hamon on each edge. The tang is long to absorb the shock of a blow and the one-piece staff construction reinforces the durability of the spear. The wood shaft is finished in a deep black lacquer and has a flattened side at the bottom section for blade orientation. Includes a black lacquered blade scabbard.

CAS Iberia Paul Chen Hanwei Yari (SH2152) Review

1 review for Hanwei Japanese Yari

Feb 2024 I just received a new Paul Chen, Hanwei Yari and the new shaft is a major improvement. I had an older Naginata by Hanwei and the blade was awesome but the shaft was weak and too light but not this one. It’s a sturdy work of art along with the fittings and blade. The saya has a nice tight fit and the T-10 blade has a nice hamon and sharp double-edge with long fuller. Asian polearms are not as popular as Katanas plus the length to ship makes them expensive but worth it.
